Baby Shower Favor

   
 I found this cute idea for a baby shower on Creative Baby Shower Ideas.  This is just so cute.  Here are the instructions.She does baby shirt napkins for boys and girls.  Really clever idea.

                   What you will need:

dinner napkins (the square kind)

glue or double sided sticky tape

decorating accessories like buttons, ribbon, fabric, etc.

Napkin Folding Steps

Step 1: Take a square dinner sized napkin and unfold the first layer.

Step 2: Fold the two outside edges in towards the center.

Step 3: Fold down the top two inside corners. This will turn into the collar of the shirt.

Step 4: Now you need to create an envelope to hold your utensils. Use either glue or double sided sticky tape along the two inside edges. Then use glue or double sided sticky tape along in inside of the bottom of the napkin. This will seal off the bottom and create a pocket for the utensils to sit in. Sidenote: Be careful when using glue, it will show easily through the napkin. If you are covering those spots with decoration then you might be ok with the look. You will need to try it first and see if you like how it turns out. 

Step 5: Decorate!!! I made a girl and boy shirt with buttons. You can used colored napkins, different colors, sizes and textures of ribbon, lace or material to create your own look.

Baby Shower Favors and Decorations

Great for baby showers or bridal parties.  Found these on JC's Loft. Here are her instructions but be sure to visit the site for variations.


    They are super easy to make!  Pick a base such as a votive holder or flower pot.  Glue a piece of foam inside the bottom of your base.  Stick a dowel rod (I painted and sanded mine) into the foam.  Fill the base with bath salt.  Cut a small square of fabric, wrap around your base, and tie with a ribbon.  Or cut a thin strip of the same fabric and use that as a ribbon!  Then pop your sponge on top of the dowel rod and TA DA your very own custom bath and body favor!  To make the bow just cut a long thin strip of coordinating fabric, tie in a bow, and use a tiny safety pink to attach to the sponge.

Baby Shower Seeds

I have a customer that wanted me to make Baby shower party favors and I came up with this. I love the flower seed idea but it takes so long to make the envelopes to put the seed packets in so I think this is easier.
All it consists of is a design 2"wide x 8" long(the size of my plastic bags for the seeds) Fold it in the middle and use a punch for the ribbon holes. The ribbon holds the side together. Inside there is a small bag with seeds. I punched the bag and card and ran the ribbon through. On the back of the card is a poem with the baby's name and bloom date. I also put instructions for planting the seeds at the bottom.
Be sure to flip the wording on the back so it's not upside down when the project is done. I have a program that lines 4 to a page, but you can use Microsoft word, publisher or another type software to line 4 side by side. Once you get it set up. Print on card stock. This is so much easier than making the envelopes to hold the seed packets.
