Look at these sad little eyes on Simba. Maybe it's because someone at Camp Pinehill kidnapped him. The perpetrators left a ransom note ,with Simba pleading for his owner to save him. There is a happy ending to this story, even though Simba was gagged and tied, he was safely returned to his owner 3 days later.
This is just one of many happy stories Camp Pinehill campers tell when they come home from Summer camp. My children have attended this camp since they were 7 years old. My oldest is now 22 and is a counselor at camp. There are no televisions, cell phones,or any electronic devices allowed at camp and you would think the kids would run the other way but Camp Pinehill has had campers come as far as 1,100 miles to their facility. And they return year after year.
Camp Pinehill is a Baptist Retreat that has daily devotions, quiet time, dramas, a prayer garden, swimming, fishing, and all the things that were important before the electronic age. Take a look at The Camp Pinehill Website. They can explain it better than I can. I know that this camp made a difference in my children's lives and their relationship with God.
I'm not associated with Camp Pinehill, I just know the difference it can make in a young person's life.
If you have attended Camp Pinehill and have a story you would like to share, please send your story to firstname.lastname@example.org
I would love to publish it on this blog.
